Overview
Speed Without Limits follows Ally Chalmers, Scotland's first wheelchair-using racing driver, as he prepares for his debut season in the ModSports Championship at Knockhill Racing Circuit. A fiercely competitive junior skier before a crash left him unable to walk at 13, Ally found a new outlet for that same drive behind the wheel of a customised Mini race car — hand-built by his mechanic Scott, with hand controls and a bespoke gearbox.
The film follows the hard work, setbacks and family bonds — his mum Carole and brother Gregor along for every step — behind a nerve-wracking, personal-best debut race. Broadcast on BBC One as part of Our Lives, Series 10.
